| Flip and Sew Carrot |
This festive and fun carrot will brighten any table. You'll use a technique that Wilma taught in a class. |
| Flip and Sew Watermelon |
This yummy table topper looks as good as ice-cold watermelon on a hot summer day! |
| Oven Mitt - great project for beginners |
This is a great pattern (and will introduce you to a handy little product called InsulBrite). If you have some time, check out other fun stuff on the website (skiptomylou). She has a really cute Fabric Notebook Cover Pattern for $1.99! |
| Oven Mitt and Pot Holders - great project for beginners |
A little different than the pattern above. |
| Microwavable Rice Heating Pads |
I love the projects on Sew4Home! These bags are often a topic of conversation - and I like how these are designed. The ric-rac adds some pizzazz! |
| Mitered Corner Cloth Napkins |
This is a great tutorial on making cloth napkins with mitered corners. |
| Pompom Scarf |
I may have to make one of these! JoAnn Fabrics sells little pompom fringe by the yard! |
| The Ten-Minute Headband |
This is a favorite studio project. Super easy! |
| iPod Case |
The first time I made this I followed the directions ... bad idea... I couldn't sew it together. I've revised the order to make it easier to assemble. Keep in mind that you'll have to adjust the size to fit your particular Ipod. So bring in the dimensions. |
| Zippered Ear Buds Case |
A great supplement to the iPod case! |
| The Beat-Up Binder Make-Over |
We all have those ugly three-ring binders that are coming apart. But who can throw them away? Make them over with this tutorial. |
| Custom Fabric Luggage Tag & Fabric Luggage Tags for Business Cards |
Another great little project. I recommend that you use Printed Treasures (available at JoAnn Fabrics) rather than ironing muslin to freezer paper. |
| Ribbon Luggage Tags |
These are super-cute and would make great gift tags, too. It's a downloadable PDF pattern (from JoAnn Fabrics). |
| Car Visor CD Holder |
OK, I DID make this and L-O-V-E it. It makes my nine-year-old Corolla seem new again! |
| Wrist Pin Cushion |
This basic wrist pin cushion is appropriate for a beginner. |
| Patchwork Tissue Holder |
Very cute tissue holder that was spotlighted on our homepage. |
| Crayon Roll |
Keep the kids organized with this fun crayon roll! I LOVE the ric rac! |
| Baby Bib with Pocket |
Make a baby bib and learn how to sew in some piping! |
| Monster Doll |
You've probably seen similar dolls at the store. Why bother? You can make one yourself! |
| Child's Chef Hat |
Sure to make any child fall in love with cooking! |
| Felt Crown |
Are you a sewing princess? Maybe we should start wearing these in the studio! |
| Calico Christmas Ornaments |
These have a cute homespun look and can be made in about an hour (or so they claim!). |
| Merry & Bright Stockings |
Love the curly toe! |
| Elf Stockings |
Another curly toe! |
| Embroidered Stockings |
Check out the variety of stockings you can make. I love the cowgirl boot! The patterns use machine embroidery but it's not necessary! |
| Secret Pocket Fabric Eggs |
I love this idea - make eggs out of fabric and hide treats inside a secret pocket! |
| Shower Curtain |
I'm in the process of making a shower curtain (not like this one, though). And yes, you could buy one for less $$, but will it match your bathroom?! |
| Remote Caddy |
This may not be "fast" but it sure looks fun! |
| Hexagonal Pillow |
Maybe I shouldn't call this "fast and fun"...because once again this project doesn't look fast but it sure looks fun. Reminds me of Morocco! |
| Basic Throw Pilllow - great for beginners |
When I first started sewing, this is what I made. They are simple and easy to make. |
| Amy Butler Hexagon Pillow |
I love Amy Butler fabric. Her patterns can sometimes be a bit tricky. But this looks fairly simple. |
| Bed Caddy |
Yeah, yeah...I know. Fun more than fast... |
| Hanging Fabric Baskets |
These may make being organized a bit more enjoyable! |
| Wallets |
There are a few free patterns here including a wallet, passport holder, and purses. |
| Trinket Keeper |
Totally cute and totally easy. Just add a grommet and a caribeener! |
| Quilted Wallet |
This is a bit more advanced - no zipper, though. |
| Made-to-Order Organizer |
This is part wallet, part organizer. I recommend reading the comments - it seems like some people were confusd by the pattern. |
| Gathered Clutch |
I LOVE this clutch. I don't the zipper needs to be that complicated, but you know what to do instead! |
| Travel Organizer |
It may make going through airport security a little more fun! |
| Lunch Money Cuffs |
Not just for kids! There are great for anyone who is on the go! For those of you who took the Crazy Jewelry Roll class, you'll know how to adjust the pattern so you can pull everything through the zipper! |
| French Market Tote |
This is a great looking tote bag designed with fabric patches. It's a great way to use scraps. I'd make it with home dec fabric for a sturdier tote (and interface it with some fusible horsehair). You could use lighterweight fabric, fuse some fusible fleece to it, then top-stitch - a great use for a twin needle. And it's probably more on the fun side than the fast side. |
| Phoebe Bag |
I've made some purses that look a lot like this. I love the shape! |
| Large Patchwork Bag |
It's a big bag! Click on their link to download the pattern. |
| Zippered Laptop Sleeve |
Don't let the zipper scare you! |
| Fabric Gift Bag |
Go green with a fabric gift bag! |
| Click to Carry Bag |
With its cute lion motif, it's the perfect messenger bag for small kids! |
| Let's Go Backpack |
Send your kids to school in style with this fun and colorful backpack! |
| Back-to-School Pencil Case |
It's totally tubular! I'd do the zipper my way, but the idea/pattern is great. |

| Lots of free patterns! |
I have had a lot of fun checking out SewMamaSew's Handmade Holiday tutorials and patterns. I ran out of ink printing all the patterns of goodies I'd like to make. Start here and then click on "newer entries" to keep going through the month (there is a new category added every day). I recommend getting their newsletter. This is one of my FAVORITE websites - I read her blog...and I'm not a blog reader! |
