Many of you asked about my ironing tables. Here is a link to the Closetmaid Cubes that I used. I bought them at ValuCenter in Painted Post (Target sells them, too).

Here's another idea for an ironing board topper.

I learned a little trick yesterday from my ASG friends - get a "Get A Grip" and suction it to your rotary cutting ruler. They are cheaper than ones designed for sewing! I bought mine at Walgreens, but they are also available on Amazon. I've added the link to our SHOP page. Link through us and we'll make some $$$. BTW, I DO NOT recommend these for the shower!

We had a wonderful Open House, with over 40 sewing enthusiasts attending!

A special thank you to Nimble Needles in Savona and The Village Sampler in Big Flats for donating gift certificates for our raffle.

Thanks to the American Sewing Guild (ASG) for donating fabric and other goodies!
May 30, 2009 We have scheduled our Open House from noon until 4 pm. This will be our OPENING!

I'm working on this website and getting my business plan in order. I've even looked at some rentals for the Sew You Can studio.

I won some fabric on the Sew Mama Sew Blog! Check out the blog....it's my favorite! Lots of tips, tutorials, and contests.

I'm also licensed to teach the Kids Can Sew sewing program for kids. This incredible series of lessons takes kids through the basics and has them sewing in no time!

March 2009

I have become a Trained Sewing Instructor! This "...intensive 3-day course gives a solid background of business information, instills confidence and assists in developing teaching skills through interactive sessions."

I have also begun working on SewYouCan Sewing Salon! I talked with my friends at the American Sewing Guild and they are as excited as I am about sharing our love of sewing.
