Four tweens/joined me in the studio to make decorative art quilt blocks. On Monday, we met at the Rockwell Museum where Mary, the education and docent director, took us on a tour. After learning about symbols in art, we returned to the studio to sew!
We used the circle attachment on our new Bernina 380. They also used the letters to add names and words to their quilt blocks. Thanks to Penn Yan Sewing Machines for letting us use this new machine.
I'm currently developing a pattern so you can make this incredible (and quite easy) fabric pouf. It has a 28" diameter and is 16" tall. It includes a zippered inner cushion that is filled with bean bag beads, a zippered outer cover, and handles. Yes, that means that it can be laundered!
Sew You Can offers sewing classes for all skill levels, from the practical to the artistic. Our classes focus on techniques that teach you to become independent and confident. Melissa, Ellen, and Bia take their backgrounds in education and training and apply them to the art of sewing. Build your skills while you sew your projects. Check out our Photo Gallery for what we've been making.
